Year End Favorites So Far

Well this year has been great for me I have found a lot of new bands that I cant believe I never heard before. Like Opeth and Lamb Of God. I just never gave them the chance that they deserved and I will regret it for the rest of my life. But any way I guess I will give a rundown of my favorites for the year! I will start with number 10 then work my way to number 1!

What A Week

Well we now have a new President of the United States. His name is Barrack Obama. (like you didnt know). I admit I am not a fan of his, I voted for John Mcain! But hey America chose Obama which I think I am finally coming to terms with. I think deep down inside I wanted to vote for Obama but his moral values and the fact that he has lied in the past, his lack of experiance doesnt seem to bother people. I dont know if he was voted in because he is black or if people just cant stand another Republican for four more years that is my question. I guess it cant be that bad we shall see! Well Slipknot have kicked off their European tour in Russia and the Ruskies got the Zero Bullshit and if you dont know what that is. It is basicly a way for Corey and Co. to make people do what they want! Looks like a great show wish I was there!

No Electricity = No Fun

Well today for about 2 hours our power went out and I tell you I was bored out of my mind! Nothing to do but listen to my iPod. I did catch up on my Podcasts and listened to a Terry King interview and was excited to hear that they will be doing a couple of shows in Europe and playing the entire Reign in Blood album. At least the first London show according to Terry and then maybe a couple of others on the Unholy Alliance tour. I cant wait till next year for their new stuff I love Slayer and everything they put our is really good in my opinion. I am sitting hear listening to Death Magnetic right now and I think All Nightmare Long is my new favorite I still like listening to The Day That Never Comes but All Nightmare Long is now the first song I listen to when I scroll to this album! Oh yeah I watched the new Slipknot video yesterday and I have to say it was really dumb! I sometimes dont know what I see in those 9 idiots sometimes! But whenever I listen to Iowa it all comes back to me!

What a great set list I wish they could of played Creeping Death but oh well not like I was there to see it anyway! And according to Metontour.com they played a little bit of Wasting My Hate after Seek and Destroy! WOW what a bummer I so wish I could have went to this concert. I am at this very moment trying to come up with ways to make it to the Little Rock or Oklahoma City show. This could possibly be the last time Metallica tours and I would give anything to see this show! Any enough wishing for today!

National Champions

Wow what a night I couldnt even bring myself to comprehend what had just happened! The Kansas Jayhawks had just won the National Championship and I couldnt be happier. This is the first victory I have had in awhile being a Oakland Raiders fan and a Kansas City Royals fan and probably the only one for a couple years anyway! The Jayhawks did it and I couldnt be happier those kids played their hearts out and they came out on top. And I have to give props to the Memphis Tigers they are a class act they played like pros and if it would have been any other team but Kansas I would have cheered for them! Even Roy Williams was there with his Kansas shirt on. That to me was huge. For all the haters out there he still loves the Jayhawks but his first love are the Tarheels and that is ok with me! Mario Chalmers made the shot of his life and it paid off. I read on MSN "Probably the biggest shot ever made in Kansas history," said coach Bill Self. "There’s been nothing like it." and the reporter responded that it was probably the biggest shot in Memphis history too! I think I will just leave it at that! And please let Bill Self savour this victory and let him worry about if he wants to got to OSU or not its his life and his paycheck not ours!
